Republican lawmakers have introduced federal legislation that would give oil and gas companies immunity from any laws or lawsuits that aim to hold them accountable for their role in the climate crisis. 

This legislation would:

• Dismiss state and local climate lawsuits against Big Oil

• Prevent states from making their own laws about climate liability, such as the “Climate Superfunds” in NY and VT

• Give the federal govermnent exclusive power over carbon emissions regulation
